This is one of the projects that we are proud to be part of as it was to help with the preservation of a heritage bridge. This bridge was built by the British back in 1885 and is the last one of it’s kind left in Malaysia. The Client (JKR) of this project was given 2 options; to either build a new one or to refurbish it. Upon inspection, the structures were found to be in good condition with deteriorations that could be repaired and rehabilitated.
This project involved repairing all of the damaged, weakened, and corroded steel structures.
Repairs to all the damaged, weakened, corroded steel structures was by the following methods:-
Remove damaged & deteriorated steel structure members and replace completely new steel sections.
Perform abrasive blasting to remove rust, and apply new protective coatings to the whole steel structure.
Repair the major structural cracks of the concrete piers with a low viscosity epoxy injection and seal it off with a high strength high thixotropic epoxy compound.
Abrasive Blasting Spraying Protective Coating Underside completed
Proper scaffold system to work beneath the bridge. Road Resurfacing
